1 colorway of the adidas Yeezy Foam RNR on SoleBook.
The adidas Yeezy Foam RNR arrived in 2020 as one of the more polarizing entries in Kanye West's line with the Three Stripes. Unlike the Boost-driven Yeezy 350 or 700 families, the Foam RNR ditched knit uppers and traditional cushioning entirely, molded instead from a single piece of algae-based EVA foam. The silhouette's slip-on, clog-like shape drew immediate comparisons to Crocs and other foam footwear, a resemblance that fueled plenty of online debate but didn't slow demand at retail. Built around adidas' sustainability push, the Foam RNR used Bloom algae foam, a material harvested to help address harmful algae blooms in waterways, tying the shoe to the eco-conscious narrative adidas was cultivating around Yeezy at the time. Its perforated body and rockered sole gave it a semi-technical, almost runner-inspired look despite lacking laces or a conventional midsole-outsole split. Colorways leaned into earthy, monochrome tones like "Sand" and "Ararat," reinforcing the organic, stripped-down aesthetic. Though it never carried the cultural weight of adidas' flagship Yeezy runners, the Foam RNR became a recognizable, if divisive, symbol of the brand's experimentation with alternative materials before the Yeezy partnership's abrupt end in 2022.
